The South West Agroforestry Network supports the growing of trees and forests for the many benefits sought by landowners.  Benefits include soil and water protection, wildlife habitat, timber and other tree products, carbon storage and aesthetics.

We support landowners and others by being a contact point for information, by holding field days and courses, and by keeping people connected to what's going on in the world of tree growing and revegetation.

  • Andrew and Sue Mountford’s karri forest and discuss management issues, especially the need for a commercial thinning and the intention of reducing fuel for fire protection.

  • Southern Forests Food Council
  • Julian’s eucalypts for timber which date from the 1980s and his more recent venture using eucalypt thinnings to grow Shiitake mushrooms.

Master TreeGrower course 
We are always taking expressions of interest for the next Master TreeGrower course.  The last few have been held in Margaret River and Northam.

The course aims to provide participants with some of the skills and contacts to be able to use trees and revegetation to meet their own particular interests and circumstances. The course involves 8 days over 2 months.
